About the Author: Kalysa fell in love with writing and design at an early age. She gets to spend her days teaching big chiclets technology at several universities. In her spare time, she loves to write, design, and create funny books to fill her inner silliness. The Backyard Chiclet series began with a request from her daughter to have a pet while coping with not seeing her friends at school anymore during the 2020 pandemic. As a mom "we only want what is best for our children", so with not knowing anything about chickens, Kalysa decided to walk this journey with her baby girl and get some backyard chickens. And from the time spent together researching and learning all about how to raise these chiclets from 1 day old to full-grown hens, The Backyard Chiclets series was created. "I love the time and stories these "girls" hens help create between my daughter and me". Some of her favorite things: 1. Her big kids 2. Her mom 3. Her "girls" chickens 4. Hazelnut coffee...Mmm 5. The ocean 6. Blueberry pie and vanilla ice cream
We look forward to seeing you there!
